I didn't know why I came to this rally. I figured because I was feeling very down in the dumps that I'd get out of the house to a place where people were feeling excited and positive about something. That they cared about something and that it would rub off on me.
The atmosphere was pretty good alright and it was pretty cool to see the president up there on stage in person. I watched a few of these rallies on YouTube and I enjoyed some of the chants. I joined in with them and got into it. Mostly because I was sitting next to a gorgeous blonde girl. Gosh her smile and vivaciousness were contagious. She nudged me a few times and patted me on the back. I couldn't help smiling and feeling good to be here with her.
I wasn't the biggest supporter but I felt good here with her. The president announced that the party's senator won the seat for our state. The crowd erupted in cheers. The girl was so happy she needed someone to kiss and dance around with. Luckily I was nearby for her to grab onto :)
I was having a great time with her here. At one point some protesters started being disruptive so the president said to get 'em outta here. The crowd erupted again in chants. The girl herself booed and hissed at the protester. She was really passionate. I felt even closer to her.
By the end of the rally we were a couple! The president even acknowledged us! He said "What's going on over there?? Something's blossoming here today folks! Bringing people together! It's what it's all about right?"
The media later mocked him for fancying himself to be a bit of a matchmaker or cupid. The truth is... he kind of was!
