One of my childhood friends was a girl who loved science and was amazingly intelligent. I was delighted when she chose me to be her boyfriend, eventual husband and father of our children.
The difficulties we had were mainly from other people, who said she was squandering her potential and that I was holding her back. Neither of us cared though and we just wanted to have a family when we were in our twenties.
Eventually, our children grew up and had lives of their own. My wife then decided to go into scientific work and did amazingly well. Everyone who gave us such a hard time for having a big family when we were younger suddenly stopped annoying us and it was a thing of the past, only now we had wonderful children and were beginning to have wonderful grandchildren.
