The time came to throw out the old CRT TV and bring in one of those newfangled flat screens. I felt sad about doing this and when the time came, I heard a girl's voice cry out "Please! Don't!"
I looked around and wondered who it was. No one was in the room. Suddenly the TV came on even though it wasn't plugged in. A girl jumped out of it and nearly made me jump out of my skin. Luckily she wasn't scary like Samara but she was beautiful, like a popstar from the 90s I had a crush on.
"Please don't throw me out!" She pleaded with me. "I'm the spirit of the CRT and I love you and your home. Please remember the times we had together!"
We would go on to chat all about lovely memories of TV from the past 2 or 3 decades and I really enjoyed her company.
"OK! You've convinced me, but I gotta have a new TV. A lot of newer stuff won't display properly on you like video games."
"True" she said "But those digital TVs all have input lag problems! I can still play all your old favourites flawlessly!"
We spent a few more hours talking about video game memories throughout the years.
"Alright, I've decided there's room for both of you!" I said. This made her dance with glee and she hugged me.
Then there was a knock on the door. It was the spirit of the new HD TV and she let herself in. She was a big girl and took up a lot of space. She was dazzlingly beautiful. "Hey roomies!" she said before getting in on our group hug.
