14 Power cut at school

My teachers did whatever they could to separate me from my girlfriend in school. They told us what we were doing was disruptive and disrespectful. Jealous classmates were in cahoots as well and snitched whenever we were seen together. It was a tough time but we did at least manage to get seats next to each other.

We were so close and yet so far. Anytime we looked at each other lovingly, someone would tell on us. It was very tough. I wanted to gaze into her brown eyes and stroke her long brown hair all day. I daydreamed like this all the time but especially on cold winter days like this, when it was dark and rainy outside. I imagined cuddling with her by a cosy fire.

Suddenly the power went out thanks to the bad weather. The class cheered and whooped, especially since we weren't able to continue, on account of it being so dark and all. My girlfriend and I looked at each other. No one yelled at us now. She looked even more beautiful in this dim light. She smiled a warm smile at me and held my hand. This was the life! No one took notice of us. I don't know if it was the excitement of class stopping or how dark it was... probably both.

"Let's tell ghost stories! Woooooo!" said one of our classmates
"Yeah... sure okay whatever" the teacher said, not able to teach anymore.

So we sat, listened to stories, held hands, while enjoying being inside on this cold, dark winter's day.
