At School NoLove it seemed like everyone was against us. Teachers tried to separate us, make an example of us and the other kids were encouraged to tattle on every single thing we did outside of class. Our love was none of their business and they were trying to interfere and destroy it.
We sat on the school roof one evening, the only safe place left. It was our only place to be together, to be a couple without anyone annoying us. Why were we the only couple in school anyway? We didn't know what was going on, but we wanted to fight back. This burning passion brought us even closer together. It was a wonderful night.
We gathered glass bottles from a fly dump and brought them up on the roof with us. We looked at each other and held hands. With our free hands we picked up a bottle each and took turns flinging them down at the schoolyard below, watching them smash to bits all over the place. We didn't stop throwing bottles until the entire schoolyard was covered in glass shards. They glistened beautifully in the moonlight.
The next day the teachers were furious. They had to close access to the schoolyard and keep us in the classrooms. Just outside the window we watched them sweep up the shards. We were surprised at just how angry and upset we made them. They went from room to room barking "WHO DID THIS?", demanding to know exactly what happened the night before. The tattlers spouted a load of their know-it-all nonsense until they were roared at to shut up. They were all so busy looking for their criminal that they took no notice of us holding hands. Everyone was upset but it was no longer at our love, it was at our revolution.
