I didn't come from a country that had a monarchy, so I wasn't used to things in this kingdom. When the princess saw me, she stepped out of line and ran up to me declaring "My sweet boy, though I have seen you but once in my life, I am desperately in love with you!" before showering my hand with her dainty kisses.
Definitely not something I was used to, and from the looks of the shocked faces around me, they weren't used to their princess doing this either.
I never saw her in traditional princess garb again. From that moment on I would see her in a knight's shining armour. She pulled off daredevil stunts and would declare loudly and devoutly that it was all in the name of her intense and everlasting love for me.
Her father, the king, had no idea what had come over her. He was a wise and capable and all powerful king, but when the princess stood in front of him and declared "I will personally repopulate this kingdom with this dear boy's seed!", he shook his head with resignation and said to me "There's nothing I can do to stop this. Her mother was just like this. Brace yourself, boy"
I lived at the castle for a time. Out of nowhere the princess would sweep me off my feet and carry me to the nearest chamber. Sometimes it was because "There's a dragon! I will save you, my love!", sometimes she just carried me off silently with no excuse.
There was no dragon. There were many many "rescues" however and because of this, within a few short years the princess gave birth to so many of our children, the kingdom expanded and thrived in a new age.
