For as long as I've known her, my girlfriend loved knitting. It was unusual to see someone wearing goth gear and also knitting.
One time she knitted me a long stocking cap which kept my head warm and also kept my neck warm. I decided to stay close to her ever since.
When other goth girls smoked and played on their phones, she played with her knitting needles. She was always doing something, whether it was socks or gloves or scarves or jumpers. She didn't just use dark colours either, she often used very bright colours, as if the sun shone from within her.
She knitted messages for me like "I LOVE YOU" all the time. She had a very quiet voice and it seemed she was more comfortable knitting messages rather than communicating with her voice or by text.
One day, she knitted socks that weren't my size... They were baby sized. She looked at me, I looked at her and she smiled back at me, nodding.
