It was after dinner and everyone in the house was relaxing. Older relatives were sleeping, younger ones were playing with toys and I was absentmindedly looking at the film on TV with the sound off, feeling a bit lonely. Just then my phone buzzed.
It was full of messages from the friends I had made over the past year, wishing me a Happy Christmas, full of kisses and everything. I then realised I mainly had female companions over the past year, beautiful ones. Some messages were full of kisses, some were complaining that I should upgrade from a flip phone, some were out of the blue from girls I hadn't seen in months.
I took quite a long while texting them all back. I even rang some of them, with them crying on the phone saying they missed me. I chatted with them and told them we could meet up some time. That made them feel better. It made me feel better too with so many girls missing my company.
