39 Traditional Girls Are Dying Out

She was the most smiley girl in school. She was always happy and it was because she was in love with me. I knew she was in love with me because she baked cakes for me everyday. Cakes with icing that read "I F*!#ING LOVE YOU" on them.

"You know..." I said at last, "You don't have to keep saying this. I kind of get the message"
"You do?!" she said, wide eyed, hands clasped in prayer pose, looking at me with pure hearted wonder.
"Yeah I do."
"Will you come home with me to meet my parents?" she asked.
"What? Uh... okay yeah".

It was an unusual request but it made her so happy when I obliged. She grabbed her super long blonde pigtails in excitement and gnawed on them. Tears of joy flowed from her eyes. If she wore make up her face would be really messy right then. I gotta admit, it was super cute. She may have been a weird traditional girl with her headscarf and brown dress, but she got excited about stuff like any normal girl. The icing on the cakes gave it away.

"My darling, I promise you it'll be wonderful!" she said, hugging me. She would gaze at me all day until the school day's end and all the way to her house while she linked arms with me.

I met her parents who were just as old fashioned as she was and just as jolly too. It was really nice of them to have me over for dinner as well. They made me feel at home and like one of the family. I learned that she was one of seventeen daughters they had. They spoke of them with heavy hearts as one by one they had passed away from illnesses I thought had been extinct for decades. With their last daughter they decided to live slightly more modern, yet keeping in tune with the way of life they always knew. This made her live longer than her late sisters. She adopted a few modern swear words but the important thing was that she was healthy and happy.

Over time I grew to like the traditional values they lived by and loved her as much as she did me. I wanted to take care of her as well because she was the last of her kind... that is... until we got married and started having more girls of her kind!
