244 I Tell Her The Truth About College

She was a student, had big round glasses, messy hair, big baby blue eyes and plump pretty lips. I looked at her with my tired, cynical eyes and even then I couldn't help but smile. She smiled back and started talking to me.

She told me about her studies and how she was adapting to college life. She didn't like it very much. That is to say, she loved learning, but she hated the school system. She told me she thought it was going to be different from high school, but college was turning out to be even worse. I nodded.

I nodded and smiled at her. She figured it out far earlier than I did and I told her. She wanted to hear my story and I shared it with her. We talked for a long time. For such a long time we started getting hungry so we went for a burger. We talked some more and took an even longer time. It started getting dark outside. It got late and I was about to go but she begged me to stay with her a bit longer, offering a night at her place. I took her up on her offer.

One thing lead to another. Her glasses were on the table, her big baby blue eyes fascinating, her plump lips exploring. I closed my cynical eyes as I was starting to believe in something again.
