We had a fight ahead of us. Unfortunately, we had to get our piece of paper first. This piece of paper was a certificate from an overpriced college.
We paid so much to be here, but had so little resources available to us. Barely any classes or anything. Yet the powers that be told us that we should be doing everything ourselves while they just picked up the admission fees.
My girlfriend came to the rescue. She held classes in the evening after our college day and we actually learned something. This helped spark the flame within everyone who then asked what the point of this stupid college was.
This lead to protests and activism. We demanded our fees be given back to us along with damages. The college then showed its vastly uglier face. Thanks to our organisation and the confidence given to us from my girlfriend's classes we stood up to them and got our money back. We then pooled the money and created a livelihood for my girlfriend.
My girlfriend's students went on to make a difference in the world. Thanks to her, the image of the ill-prepared debt-ridden student became a thing of the past.
