261 A Quiet St Patrick's Day

It the cities and towns it was quite animated with the parades but in villages like this one it was quite sleepy. St Patrick's Day was here and in a quiet place like this you could plan the perfect crime... or the perfect date.

My girlfriend and I both had green eyes so we were immune to the pinch. We didn't wear anything green, just something warm. We went for a walk and noticed it was very quiet, so we walked and danced on the roads, sneaking in a kiss or two.

The only busy part of the village was the pub I suppose. Neither of us drank but we did go to a place. A quiet café which was serving breakfasts all day. We got some lovely crispy bacon, fried eggs and sausages in, which kept us going on our date.

We went for a walk in the woods and skipped in a carefree way. It rained for a little bit so we stayed under the forest canopy and in the snakeless grass.

When it stopped raining a beautiful rainbow appeared. Our house was at the end of it. We took this as a sign to head home, so we did. There was a parade on TV but we opted to watch Father Ted on DVD instead.
