The mere sight of the deli counter gave me a stomachache. I was hungry, but for a certain thing. I didn't know what. Suddenly the gorgeous deli counter worker gave me a big friendly hello and asked me what I would like.
I felt less stressed than I usually did when in this situation and it was thanks to her beautiful face and easy-going smile. I felt comfortable with her enough to say I didn't know what I wanted. She suggested a crisp sandwich.
I blinked. What a great idea! I hadn't had one in years. She asked me what flavour I wanted, what brand I wanted and she got it! She asked if I wanted butter or mayonnaise and I said butter! No mayonnaise! She nodded and agreed mayonnaise was disgusting.
She put together an amazing sandwich. It was so amazing that nowadays when I visit the deli counter I just ask for the usual!
