I had a huge crush on my college classmate and did all kinds of stupid stuff to impress her. She wouldn't take her nose out of her phone though, so I was happy to just get any attention from her at all.
When she did — when she laughed at one of my jokes or even said hi to me, I would be so happy for that brief moment until she went right back in to her phone.
When we sat at the lunch table she wouldn't take her eyes off the phone, propping it up while she ate. I sat across from her on the same table and looked at her.
I loved looking at her. It made me feel very happy and comfortable. It seemed like I was getting used to her swiping and tapping on her phone.
Eventually when we went out, this slowly stopped. Soon she was paying lots of attention to me. When she looked at her phone now, it was kind of nostalgic. Then she would look back at me and talk about her intense growing feelings of love for me. it was a wonderful feeling. Of course, I was growing more in love with her too.
