790 Sentenced to Marriage

When I was younger I fell in love with a much older lady and she loved me too. She made me feel things I never imagined and eventually she became pregnant.

We were happy but a lot of people weren't. Some people were so unhappy about it that she was taken to court.

It was all a weird experience. I had doctors talk to me asking me about my "problems" even though I kept telling them I didn't have any.

I didn't get to see her as often and I felt very sad but she gave me assurance and said "We'll be together soon and for good, my darling. I promise."

This gave me the strength to carry on.

One day I had to go to court with her and I was just as bewildered as I always was. The judge asked us to hear his final word. He said we were to be married at the state's expense and we were to dedicate ourselves to each other.

I was surprised at this but I was very happy. I looked at my wife to be and she smiled at me with a happy, yet knowing look on her face. She was right. Everything was going to be alright.
