My girlfriend took me to a hillside above town. She had fixed some delicious sandwiches for a picnic. She was here for something else too though. She had some measuring tools and she was taking notes and observations. I asked her what she was up to. She said it was a surprise.
I talked her into taking a break with some tasty sandwiches. I tried to get it out of her but she smiled and said to me in a very cryptic way to stand under a specific window in my house and to keep it open at a certain time on a certain day.
I couldn't get anything else out of her, so I just settled for delicious sandwiches and cuddles for the rest of the afternoon.
Some time later, at the time she told me to, I stood under the big window at home and opened it. I was still puzzled as to why she wanted me to do this, especially as it was so windy and stormy today.
I stood there for a while, wondering what in the world she was talking about?
Just when I was about to give up and close the window, I saw something in the sky. It was an umbrella and my girlfriend was holding on to it! She was flying through the air!
I stood there, staring at her, wide-eyed. Was she crazy? Undoubtedly, but she was also heading this way! She motioned me to get out of the way as she got closer and closer at top speed!
I got out of the way just in time. My girlfriend flew in through the window just before her umbrella turned inside out and she bombed on to my bed, landing safely. She looked up at me and said "Surprise!"
