639 Overground Quarantine Bunker

I sat in the living room of my floating apartment with my robot girlfriend. We watched a bit of news. Yup. The pandemic was still going on. It had been almost two weeks since we took refuge above the clouds. I was beginning to forget what the world below looked like.

I turned on the cloaking device and took the apartment below the clouds. The world wasn't devastated but it was almost deserted. It was really nice actually.

I gave my robot girlfriend a shopping list and she went to get the shopping. I went with her sometimes and it was nice because everyone was being very good with the social distancing measures. They were letting us mind our own business. My robot girlfriend's perfect form still turned heads but from a distance. It was great.

We picked some groceries and left. When we got back to the apartment we looked outside and saw police cars patrolling around the place. There were more of them than usual. We decided to go for a takeaway and zipped over there, bypassing all the police around. I was able to get my full list, which usually involved going around to different shops, but would be impossible otherwise, without the floating apartment.
