I went for my usual everyday walk. Everything was grand and quiet, but then I noticed a lot of policemen in uniforms passing through the local area. They looked like they were keeping an eye on traffic, but there was an awful lot of them...
I said my usual hellos to passers by on the footpath, but one stopped me for a chat. She had a big smile and was very beautiful. She asked me about a good place around here to eat. I told her about my favourite place. She then said "maybe I'll see you there sometime!" before we parted. Wow!
I thought about her for the rest of the walk. I didn't see many ladies nowadays, at least none like her. Wow she was beautiful. I even thought about her that night when I went to bed. For a moment my thoughts were stirred by sirens outside, but I went back to thinking about the lady again.
By the next day all the policemen were gone. They spent ages in the area and I wondered what they were here for. I soon forgot about it and went to my usual place for dinner.
When I arrived I was about to place my order, but the guy behind the counter said that "my girlfriend" already ordered and she was waiting for me in the next room. That was strange... I went in there and there she was, the lady from yesterday, smiling and resting her chin in her hands.
"I asked around and ordered your favourite!" she said, "I hope you don't mind me joining you!". I sat down opposite her and asked her who she was. In turn she asked me if I believed in love at first sight. I didn't have a good answer for her and she continued, saying she couldn't stop thinking about me since we met yesterday. I blushed. I was amazed someone this beautiful took an interest in me.
We ate and chatted and had a lovely evening. At one point we could hear sirens outside. The policemen were back! I went to the window to have a look. "What are they back for?" I asked. Getting no answer, I turned around to see my new lady friend had disappeared without a trace.
I ran out to the owner of the place and he said she left in a hurry, but she paid the bill and left a message. She said she'll see me soon for another date. He complimented me on meeting such a beautiful lady. I gave him thanks and I left, wondering where she went to...
