Using a cheat cartridge, my girlfriend and I loved to spend holidays in Super Mario 64's world. We would take a walk around all the locations and just explore every little thing and talk about memories and theories.
I was flying around the castle one day when I got a text from her to come see her at the top of Wet Dry World. I floated down to the ground and went inside the castle.
I went upstairs and made sure to triple jump into the top of the painting. When I got to Wet Dry World, the water was at maximum height. I landed on the platform where she was waiting for me. I sat next to her.
We looked at the buildings in the distance. We wondered who lived there, if anyone ever lived there at all. We wanted to go exploring that world beyond the boundary. After that we held hands and talked animatedly about theories and about memories we had of playing the game with a controller when we were younger.
We always ended with a smooch and a way back to the real world, where we couldn't really go anywhere interesting during the global pandemic.
