"How about a kiss?" the barmaid asked me.
"Put it on my tab" I said back to her, jokingly.
This was a nice cute joke we had between us. One day I decided to say I'd pay it off. That may have been a mistake.
She took out a huge long list and added up the totals. I was surprised I owed that much, or how seriously she was taking it.
I looked at her, wondering if she really was serious. She was smiling but she wasn't joking. She continued counting. It was going from the dozens into the hundreds. How long was I coming here?
She took me to a room with comfortable seating and put her arms around me. "Now! Pucker up!" she said as she leaned in to kiss me.
Kisses went on until closing time. Even then my debt still wasn't paid off.
