Before my girlfriend and I started dating we were just chatting like anyone would in polite company. Then the topic of video games came up.
I learned not to be shy about my gaming hobby so I talked a little bit about it but not too much that might make her regret she asked. I was still a little bit self-conscious.
Then she started talking about the games console I was talking about and going into ridiculous detail. I was bowled over. She knew all the games I knew and in amazing detail. We talked for ages.
Then she invited me to see her collection. I couldn't say no. When she showed me her setup I was gobsmacked and felt like I went to heaven. So many games! She asked me a few other things I couldn't say no to and we quickly became boyfriend and girlfriend, together in retro game bliss.
