My girlfriend and I became night owls. We tended to stray far from the madding crowd and usually went out when shops were quieter. The rest of the time we would sleep when huge traffic was on the road. When the traffic was gone, we went out and did our thing.
We didn't see the sun much, except in summer when the sunsets were spectacular. It was a nice thing to wake up to. Sunrises were then a nice thing to go to sleep to. After spending our nights together, we would retire together to bed and snooze soundly while job zombies went to work.
After the morning rush came the sleepiness of the day while everyone else was at work. All was peaceful and quiet and ideal for sleeping. We snoozed peacefully and dreamed sweet undisturbed dreams.
The summer heat didn't bother us as we would sleep right through it with the curtains drawn. Most people worshipped the sun but not us. We found its warmth a good reason to have a rest for ourselves.
On rainy days we would sleep while the rain pelted against the windows. Somewhere there was a bus full of job zombies stuck in traffic with the windows all fogged up from humans damp with sweat, wet clothes and just plain lack of fresh air. It was an idle flashback that made me shiver. My girlfriend then hugged and nuzzled me into her bosom. We went back to sleep.
