A lot of pressure from everywhere was upon me to upgrade my robot girlfriend. I was happy with the way she was but influences from everywhere were trying to get me to upgrade.
I had a chat with her and she said I could carry on my memories of her to a newer model and virtualise them. She encouraged me to give the newer models a trial run.
And so I did go to try them out. They were pretty good and my robot girlfriend watched sometimes, but there were things they couldn't do that my current one could. I was worried that stuff would be lost forever.
The next option was to have the new robot girlfriend live with us for a while. It was a very stressful time but it was something I was able to do on my own. I was able to adapt to the new girlfriend and eventually I was able to virtualise my old into the new as well. I had a better idea of what was going on and I was able to take my time. I was able to finally upgrade.
In truth, I was able to keep the legacy robot girlfriend as long as I wanted and I did. I had both the old and the new one for many years to come.
