Flashing lights and drones shone outside, moving to and fro. I stood at the window with my hands in my dressing gown pockets. My girlfriend lived far away and I couldn't visit her by going outside.
I closed the curtains and switched on the transportation portal. It showed an image of the interior of my girlfriend's house. Then it showed an image of my girlfriend dashing towards the portal. The next thing I see is my girlfriend leaping through the portal and into my arms, kissing me all over. "I miss you so much!" she said as she kissed me all over my face, not giving me a chance to speak.
I switched off the portal and hung out with my girlfriend for the rest of the afternoon, not caring about whatever madness was going on outside.
